Our People Are Our Greatest Asset - SummitCare's Annual Staff Recognition Awards

For the last thirteen years, the Staff Recognition event has given members of the SummitCare team a chance to get together in celebration of all they’ve accomplished, not only for themselves but for the thousands of families in the wider community.

It’s no easy feat working in the aged care sector. While it’s extremely rewarding, it can also be an emotional journey and sometimes a hard one, with the ever-changing government policies and consumer demands. You have to be a special type of person, someone with a passion for making a difference, and making each moment count.

As a child, we’re recognised for doing a good job at school, doing well in exams or winning a sporting contest. So why should the leap to working for an organisation be any different? This is not to say that you need a pat on the back every minute of every day, but a thank you goes a long way.

“Recognition and appreciation is so important to us at SummitCare, the team go above and beyond everyday and all deserve medals.” says Cynthia Payne SummitCare CEO.

Cynthia goes on to say, “our team respond to recognition of their work because it confirms their work is valued. And when employees are valued, their satisfaction improves, productivity rises and they are motivated to maintain or improve their good work.”

Nursing Assistant, Keirsten Benson says, “The recognition event is something we all look forward to every year. I feel very fortunate to be part of an organisation that has such strong family values and a real understanding of the importance of the word thank you!”
